Story
It all started with the frustration of that day...
It was during a trip off the coast of Shima, targeting albacore tuna.
A yellowfin tuna of around 50kg struck unexpectedly.
There was no way it was going in a landing net.
And on a pleasure boat, you don't exactly have a long harpoon on hand.
We struggled desperately trying to manage with a gaff, only to have it dive back down again.
After three hours of battle, it never resurfaced — taking our rod and our spirit with it as it escaped.
"If only I'd had a harpoon I could have driven in instantly, that one moment it surfaced..."
That burning frustration etched into memory became the driving force behind developing our own product. And it was the completion of the "Folding Spear" — the FOLDING SPEAR — that gave birth to SHACHI FISHING GEAR.
